Print against Fingerprints

We read in bed because reading is halfway between life and dreaming, our own consciousness in someone else’s mind. —Anna Quindlen

I end almost every single day with at least 20 minutes in bed propped up with pillows and a good book. My love of reading began as a kid in home-school with Laura Ingalls, the Bernstein Bears and Highlights magazines. My parents fed my love of reading and encouraged me to roam the world via the stories and journeys of those pages.

Technology has grown up since then as have I. Kindle and their cousins haven’t won me over yet as I still love the feel of a book in my hands and the smell of it’s pages. I do, however, love the community of Goodreads. Are you a fan?

Goodreads allows you to group a summary, review, etc of all the books you’ve read, keep an ongoing list of books you want to read and check out others in your online community with their recommendations. I recently took an evening to update my account with all the books I’ve read over these last few months.  You can check out my Goodreads profile and books here.

Another favorite resource is Modern Mrs. Darcy by Anne Bogel.  She’s pretty much become the queen of the modern literary world offering a book club community, reading guides and the top recommendations perfectly curated. Check her out her blog, podcast or (my favorite thing she does) her Reading Challenges and book lists. I loved her list of 9 Bestsellers actually worth the hype, Thank you!
