Is there a song you hear and just cry every time? No, ok maybe I’m the only weird one, but y’all music can just rip my heart out sometimes. Sometimes there will be this one song of my season of life that I will just play over and over and feel like it’s my new mantra or something.
A few weeks back I was introduced to a new-to-me artist, Jackie Hill Perry, from an interview with her on Journey Women podcast. Oh my goodness, if you haven’t heard of her you are about to be wrecked because she is so insanely talented, more real and honest than anyone I’ve ever heard, and getting a very much needed message out there. Here’s the song that I can’t get enough of:
Maybe it’s the Reformer in me (any other Enneagram Type One personalities out there?) that is constantly looking to better and improve everything around me, but this song about ” God you making me better, making me better and you choose to do it however, whenever, whatever…” Ah! It is just a breath of fresh air of how I feel, what I want to be true of my everyday and the awesome truth of God using however, whatever, whenever to make me better.
the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked. 1 John 2:6
I would LOVE to hear from you; what is God teaching you? What are you learning that He is using to make you better? Sometimes we walk through some hard stuff that isn’t necessarily a joy, but we know He is using all things for good. He is using whatever we go through to mold us more and more into being imitators of him. Walking in love, not always easy, but always always worth the outcome.
Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. Ephesians 5:1-2
